Gamarjoba! How crazy is that? At the last Erlangen Comic Salon, Mikheil from Georgia showed up with the idea of someday maybe starting a publishing house and publishing ‘Kinderland’ .
And now – ‘times aren’t perfect, but when are they ever?’ – Matarebeli Comics (named after trains, because trains are like comic strips) has suddenly been founded ! and which comic has the great honour of being one of the first to be released there? 🙂

Mikheil had special Georgian comic book letters created, and the ornate letters were incorporated extremely well into the speech bubbles. I have no idea how much of the East German/Berlin language and jokes are lost in translation, but re-lettering 300 pages of comics is always an impressive achievement.
To celebrate the launch of the newly founded Matarebeli publishing house and the publication of Kinderland, a small tour through Tbilisi and Kutaisi for a very excited Mawil is being organized with the support of the Goethe-Institut Georgia – Thanks a lot !

გამარჯობა! სიგიჟეა, არა?! ერლანგენის კომიქსების ბოლო სალონზე, საქართველოდან ჩამოსული მიხეილი გავიცანი, რომელსაც უნდოდა კომიქსების გამომცემლობა დაეარსებინა და „ქინდერლენდი“ გამოეცა. ჰოდა სწორედ ახლა – „იდეალური დრო ნამდვილად არ არის, მაგრამ როდის არის რო?!“ – დაფუძნდა კიდეც Matarebeli Comics (რომელსაც სახელი იმიტომ დაერქვა, რომ მატარებლები კომიქსებს ჰგვანან) და გამოიცანით რომელ კომიქსს აქვს დიდი პატივი, იყოს ერთ-ერთი პირველი, ვინც მატარებელმა გამოსცა? 🙂

Matarebeli-ში ქართულენოვანი გამოცემისთვის შექმნეს ახალი ფონტი და დახატეს სპეციალური ასოები, რომელიც შესანიშნავადაა ინტეგრირებული სასაუბრო ღრუბლებში. წარმოდგენა არ მაქვს, თარგმნაში დაიკარგა თუ შენარჩუნდა აღმოსავლეთ გერმანული/ბერლინური ენა და ხუმრობები, მაგრამ ერთი რამ ცხადია – 300-გვერდიანი კომიქსის ასე მოხატვა ყოველთვის შთამბეჭდავი მიღწევაა.

ახლად დაარსებული გამომცემლობის „Matarebeli Comics“ და „კინდერლენდის“ ქართულენოვანი გამოცემის აღსანიშნავად, გოეთეს ინსტიტუტის მხარდაჭერით თბილისსა და ქუთაისში მოკლე ტური იმართება ძალიან აღფრთოვანებული „მავილთან“ ერთად – დიდი მადლობა!
